Professor Sean Metzger
School of Theater, Film and Television divider

Sean Metzger is a professor in the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television. He specializes in visual culture (art, digital media, fashion, film, theater) as well as Asian American, Caribbean, Chinese diaspora, gender and sexuality studies from the late nineteenth century through the present. His publications investigating French and Francophone cultures span from Fort-de-France to Montreal to Paris. Professor Metzger has visited 50 countries and has lived and worked in Canada, France, and China. He served for four years each as president of Performance Studies international and as editor of the academic quarterly, Theatre Journal. Before coming to UCLA in 2012, he was an Assistant Professor at Duke University for several years.
