UCLA Faculty on Tour

Dr. Susan Kresin
Department of Slavic, East European and Eurasian Languages divider

Dr. Susan Kresin has been working in the Department of Slavic, East European and Eurasian Languages since 1996, where she teaches Czech, Russian and courses on Slavic linguistics, including Old Church Slavic (closely related to Bulgarian). Dr. Kresin’s publications include an introductory Czech language textbook, edited collections of articles on Czech culture and on the pedagogical needs of heritage-language speakers, and articles on language pedagogy, comparative linguistics, and corpus-based linguistics. She has served for more than twenty years on the board of the International Association of Teachers of Czech, and, in connection with her work promoting Slavic language instruction, she recently received a “Distinguished Service Award” from the American Association of Teachers of Slavic and East European Languages.
