Professor Emeritus Kathryn Norberg
Department of History divider

Until her retirement in 2023, Kathryn Norberg taught European history in the UCLA Department of History for 36 years. She is the author or editor of seven books dealing with topics as diverse as the history of charity, fiscal crises, women in revolution, eighteenth-century furniture and fashion prints in the age of Louis XIV. Her most recent project analyzes life in an eighteenth-century Paris brothel. Her teaching at UCLA covered Europe from the early Middle Ages to 1800. She has traveled through Normandy many times and has a particular interest in the English channel and its islands.
